History
Between
2006 and 2007, we released a number of animated
shorts about a carton of milk and his friends. The
wacky shorts found some success locally. In the
ensuing time since the last released episode, we
have been working on remaking the old episodes.
Recently, the decision was made to convert the
series into an animated feature film, due to be
released at some point in 2010.

Storyline
Milk Paton
is a humble carton of Milk living in Glazgo -
Scotland's only city. Fed up of constant gun and
knife crime, he moves to a small school in the
countryside where he meets "The Poofs": Mark, the
local idiot, Robert the local genius and William, an
Englishman who has discovered how to transform
himself into every day geometric shapes such as
plectrums and 9mm handguns.
Together they find themselves fighting Terrorists,
escaping prison and fighting with each other about
boobies. Along the way there will be car chases,
swearing, boobies and jokes about penises. Also,
there will be explosions. But mainly at the end.
The film is narrated by a talking pyramid who
constantly breaks the 4th wall by arguing with the
show's director after he slept with his wife.

Format
The project
has evolved from an animated series into a feature
film, running to 120 minutes in length.
The project is
being produced in 1280x720 PAL HD. Whilst it would
have been desirable to create it at 1920x1440, the
workload involved would simply be too much. I wish
HD was never invented.
The film is shown
with a "faked" widescreen effect, which
allows for subtitles to be shown at the bottom of
the screen against black. The "faked widescreen
effect" obscures around 35% of the total screen
area. These black areas allow for the subtitles to
be clearly read at all times. The subtitles are
integral to several jokes in the film.

3 NEW!

A new
screenshot showing two characters
conversing. I thought it was important to
put a shot I was unhappy about up on this
site instead of only showing ones I am happy
with. |
Another shot
from the same scene. |
The show
features subtle 3D shots such as this
tracking shot where the camera flies through
Air Traffic Control. The 3D shots are used
modestly. |

The ever
popular Mark returns in the new incarnation
of Milk Paton: meaner and stupider than ever
before. |
The military
characters seen in the original run of
episodes return in the reboot. |
The film is
one big homage to terrible 80's action
films. This image is taken from a sequence
in which a military base is ransacked. |

The character
Robert returns in the new version of Milk
Paton. He has been re-imagined as a weak
minded genius in the new film. His beard
also returns. |
Mr Man
returns. He has less screen time we promise. |
A criminal
robs a small store in Milk Paton's home
city: Glazgo. The feature film details
Milk's origin story. |
 |
 |
 |
|
The film
includes a lot of night time filming and
weather effects which were
challenging to create. Night time footage is
shot during the day to avoid noise and
grain. |
Towards the
end of the film, the characters find
themselves on a tropical island. Creating a
convincing rainforest look was difficult. |
The famous
Ford Escort from the original series
reappears. It's impending scrappage has
entailed the use of scale models and visual
effects to create a new reimagining of the
Paton Break car chase seen in the original
Milk Paton episodes. |

The "success"
of the old episodes has meant many people
are now keen to be involved. Here, a friend
portrays Milk Paton's mum: MILF Paton.
